Role Summary:

The Dietary Supervisor - Nutrition & Dining is responsible for overseeing the shift operations, including meal production, service, and retail functions, ensuring the highest standards of service for our patients, visitors, staff, and guests while complying with all relevant regulations set by local, state, and federal authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of staff
  • Management of meal production, ensuring quality, flavor, and presentation
  • Handling retail transactions and cash management
  • Overseeing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including month-end and year-end documentation
  • Coordinating catering services
  • Vendor management, addressing equipment and inventory requirements
  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for diet orders and meal selections
  • Utilizing food service management software daily
  • Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and sanitation regulations
  • Exhibiting effective communication and team-based management skills
  • Flexibility to undertake additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Associate degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience in food service, ideally within a long-term care environment.
  • Licensure: Not required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Servsafe or Food Safety Manager certification
  • Experience in cooking

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, sit, push, pull, and reach. May encounter extreme temperatures and loud environments. Potential exposure to slippery surfaces and sharp objects. A valid driver's license may be necessary.

Travel Requirements:

  • 100% Onsite
