POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant, non-certified, plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by assisting in patient management and ensuring smooth operations within the clinic. This position involves guiding patients to examination rooms, managing communication through phone calls and messages, and providing essential information and reassurance to patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently identify oneself verbally and by wearing a name badge while on duty.
- Under the supervision of a licensed physician, perform various clinical tasks, including:
- Preparation of medical instruments and treatment areas.
- Collection and documentation of patient vital signs and health information, ensuring accurate patient identification.
- Efficiently organize tasks and manage workload to enhance productivity.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and notify appropriate personnel when restocking is necessary.
- Input physician-directed diagnostic orders into the approved electronic medical record system and ensure proper documentation of orders.
- Adhere to safety protocols and suggest improvements for health and safety practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in standard medical practices and procedures.
- Prepare billing tickets for tests and procedures conducted.
- Anticipate departmental needs and assist colleagues to improve overall office efficiency.
- Respond to patient inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
- Schedule necessary procedures and manage incoming calls and messages promptly.
- Understand the limitations of the non-certified Medical Assistant role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned with accuracy and willingness.
