Job Summary:

As a Data Engineer at Bryan Health, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining analytics datasets, sources, and reporting infrastructure. This role requires expertise in data governance, standards, and applications across the organization. You will work closely with stakeholders to scope, build, and implement key data and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. *Design and implement data infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.

2. *Create and organize large, complex datasets to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

3. *Identify and deploy improvements to current data structure to improve performance and quality.

4. *Build and automate ETL processes for data inside and outside the organization.

5. *Use and build tools to ensure data quality and accuracy.

6. *Work with internal and external customers to gather, validate, and implement data requirements.

7. *Collaborate with leaders and end-users to define business problems and solutions, including project scoping and technical requirements.

8. *Develop and execute user test plans and provide support to test teams and resolve issues based on test results.

9. *Verify the collection of data is within required quality standards.

10. *Participate in enterprise Data Governance process and create data quality tickets as needed.

Requirements:

  • Highly proficient in SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Knowledge of metadata management, data quality, stewardship, etc.
  • Knowledge of healthcare-related data formats: JSON, XML, FHIR, HL7.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize work demands.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Informatics, Information Technology, or related field required. Five years of related experience required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of four years developing pipelines in a complex data environment preferred.
