About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Ability Builders ABA Co. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant - Special Needs Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to our students with special needs.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant - Special Needs Educator will assist our Occupational Therapist in conducting screenings, assessments, and occupational therapy services. You will also be responsible for implementing documented IEP plans or protocols, documenting student progress, and reporting to the Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with screenings, assessments, and occupational therapy services.
  • Implement documented IEP plans or protocols.
  • Document student progress and report to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist in maintaining student records, tallying data, and preparing charts and reports.
  • Organize classroom activities, such as displaying educational materials and arranging furniture.
  • May implement behavior management programs for students as designed by certified staff.
  • Qualifications/Employment Standards:
  • Occupational therapy equipment, materials, and procedures.
  • Current occupational therapy methodologies.
  • Normal child development.
  • Physical and mental disorders that can affect pediatric occupational performance.
  • Learning patterns in children.
  • Student behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Effective time management.
  • Effective selection, preparation, and presentation of materials.
  • Maintaining student progress documentation.
  • A variety of screening tools, protocols, and forms of documentation.
  • Effective implementation of therapy objectives.
  • Operation of instructional and office equipment.
  • Simple math for compiling reports and maintaining records.
  • Effective and tactful communication in both oral and written forms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a school setting.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
