Important Information:

Work Environment: The Groundskeeper will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain. The role demands good physical fitness to handle the physical demands of the job. Flexibility and teamwork are essential, as scheduling changes may occur to meet the needs of park visitors.

Job Responsibilities: The Groundskeeper will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting basic maintenance and janitorial duties on park grounds and facilities.
  • Collecting fees and managing reservations through the Online Reservation Management System (ORMS).
  • Maintaining cleanliness and functionality of restrooms and shower facilities.
  • Ensuring individual campsites are clean and well-maintained.
  • Engaging with the public and providing excellent customer service.

Physical and Environmental Demands: The position involves frequent physical exertion, including lifting, carrying, and digging. The Groundskeeper may work in adverse conditions, which may include:

  • Extreme temperatures, rain, and exposure to insects.
  • Proximity to wastewater systems and potential health hazards.
  • Areas with wildlife and potential exposure to diseases.
  • Handling hazardous materials such as pesticides and solvents.
  • Working on weekends and holidays as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Candidates should possess the following:

  • Proficiency in using various hand tools and equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with the public effectively.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and traffic laws.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ethical behavior and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
