Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parks Laborer to join our team at the Crystal Lake Park District. As a key member of our Park Services department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain the beauty and functionality of our parks and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as mowing, trimming, and landscaping to maintain park grounds and facilities.
  • Assist with turf maintenance, including fertilizing, pruning, and watering.
  • Operate power equipment such as tractors and mowers to maintain park grounds.
  • Perform general building maintenance tasks such as cleaning and assisting with repairs.
  • Remove trash and debris from park grounds and facilities.
  • Work weekends and special events as needed to ensure park facilities are maintained and ready for use.
Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform manual labor tasks.
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License required.
  • Must be 18 years of age to operate power equipment.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying degrees of physical exertion. You will be exposed to weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, snow, rain, and ice. You will also be exposed to chemicals, such as fertilizers and weed killers, and elevated noise levels from power equipment.
