Maintenance Technician for Sunrise Latham Area Apartments

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Sunrise Management & Consulting. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our apartment communities in the Latham, NY area.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, with experience in assessing and addressing maintenance issues, performing repairs, and maintaining property grounds. You will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.

We manage a portfolio of approximately 1,500 apartments in the Capital Region and are dedicated to the growth and development of our employees.
Essential Functions:- Respond to work orders from residents by assessing issues and making necessary repairs.
- Patch, paint, and clean apartment interiors to specified standards and schedules.
- Clean and maintain the apartment community and common areas.
- Maintain property exterior and grounds, including snow removal and removal of debris.
- Ensure walkways are safe and clean, and identify and address any hazards or unsightly conditions.
- Complete required logs, work orders, and other documents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Basic plumbing, electrical, painting/patching, and carpentry skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues in apartments and common areas.
- Ability to work on-call and overtime hours.
- Ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with residents and colleagues.
- Knowledge of painting and patching techniques.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to operate a company vehicle and maintain it in a clean and safe condition.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to traverse the property and climb steps and ladders to diagnose building issues.
- Ability to perform repairs and operate tools and machinery.
