As a Behavioral Support Specialist with the Council Bluffs Community School District, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with significant disabilities and challenging behaviors. About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Behavioral Support Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analysts to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide support services to students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out treatment plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or similar practitioner
  • Assist with communication, social, and daily living skills at the direction of BCBA and/or teachers
  • Provide direct intervention services to students in cooperation with teachers, physicians, and parents
  • Participate in and provide input to the individual education team for the students

Requirements

  • Required: Registered Behavior Technician Certificate
  • Required: One of the following qualifications:
    • Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education
    • Possession of an associates degree
    • Completion of a paraeducator certificate course
    • Passing the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) exam
  • Preferred: Experience working with young people in an educational setting

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on location and experience.
