About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Safety Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our Cargo Lander systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety and reliability analyses, including Hazard Analysis, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, and Human Error Assessments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify areas of opportunity for design improvements and minimize risk to people and property.
  • Participate in gated reviews to communicate safety and reliability analyses and ensure compliance with external standards.
  • Apply technical principles and tools in Systems Engineering, including CONOPs development, requirements analysis, and interface definition.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in aerospace and/or aviation manufacturing.
  • Experience with performing safety analyses, including Hazard Analysis, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, and Human Error Assessments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to generate metrics and report on program system safety status.
  • Strong safety and mission assurance fundamentals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical partners.
