Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures, to provide high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, including X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures, to provide accurate and high-quality images for patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Patient Care: Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or special procedures, including assisting with sterile technique, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily imaging equipment quality control to ensure all equipment is in safe working order prior to use, and report any malfunctions to management.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document patient procedures and enter charges at the time of service, and report any near misses or errors promptly into the hospital's patient safety reporting system.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer (ARRT) and CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure (if new graduate, must obtain within 90 days of hire/transfer date).

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
  • Computer Skills: Possesses basic computer knowledge and operates multiple computer systems to include, Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software to maintain patient and exam documents.
Work Environment

This position is located in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging department and requires the ability to work in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy.
