Job Summary

The University Hospital in Newark, NJ seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Neurophysiology Technologist to supervise all laboratory personnel and direct technical activities of the laboratory.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability, education, training, and expertise required to meet the needs of patients of all ages (newborn to maturity).



Key Responsibilities

Supervise laboratory personnel and direct technical activities of the laboratory
Evaluate requests for Neurophysiology tests (EEG, Video EEG Monitoring, TCD, EP, NCS/EMG) and advise physicians regarding procedures and test designs
Determine and program test and equipment necessary to complete diagnostic studies
Evaluate test results and determine if they are adequate for interpretation
Possess the ability, education, training, and/or expertise required of a Senior Level Neurophysiology Technologist to meet the needs of patients of all ages (newborn to maturity)

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent GED certification required
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in EEG and Video EEG Monitoring testing required
Completion of a Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation Program accredited by The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist, INC. (ABRET) required
Successful completion of a national registry exam is required (ABRET)
Annual Respirator Fit Testing required

Credential Preferred
An Associate's Degree or higher in a related field preferred
Prior supervisory experience is preferred

Credential Required
High School Diploma/GED, ABRET, Current American Heart Association CPR certification and BLS certification
