Critical Care Paramedic Role:

New Windsor Volunteer Ambulance Cor is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Paramedic to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing critical care to patients in need.

The estimated annual salary for this role is $75,000-$90,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer advanced life support care to patients in pre-hospital settings according to established medical protocols and standards.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, determining the nature and extent of illness or injury.
  • Perform medical procedures such as intravenous access, endotracheal intubation, and cardiac monitoring.
  • Administer medications as per established protocols and medical direction.
  • Safely transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring continuous care during transit.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatch, medical staff, patients, and family members.
  • Accurately document patient information, treatment provided, and the patient's response in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are maintained and ready for use.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or related field preferred.
  • Certification:
    • Current New York State Paramedic Certification.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a paramedic in an emergency medical services setting preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in using medical and computer equipment.
