Critical Care Paramedic Role:
New Windsor Volunteer Ambulance Cor is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Paramedic to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing critical care to patients in need.
The estimated annual salary for this role is $75,000-$90,000, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Administer advanced life support care to patients in pre-hospital settings according to established medical protocols and standards.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, determining the nature and extent of illness or injury.
- Perform medical procedures such as intravenous access, endotracheal intubation, and cardiac monitoring.
- Administer medications as per established protocols and medical direction.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring continuous care during transit.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatch, medical staff, patients, and family members.
- Accurately document patient information, treatment provided, and the patient's response in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
- Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are maintained and ready for use.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or related field preferred.
- Certification:
- Current New York State Paramedic Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a paramedic in an emergency medical services setting preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using medical and computer equipment.
