Job Title: Medical Care Specialist

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

New Windsor Volunteer Ambulance Corps is seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing advanced medical care and transportation for critically injured or ill patients in a pre-hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to function independently in a non-structured environment that is constantly changing. You will be expected to administer advanced life support care to patients in pre-hospital settings according to established medical protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, determining the nature and extent of illness or injury.
  • Perform medical procedures such as intravenous access, endotracheal intubation, and cardiac monitoring.
  • Administer medications as per established protocols and medical direction.
  • Safely transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring continuous care during transit.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatch, medical staff, patients, and family members.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or related field preferred.
  • Certification:
    • Current New York State Paramedic Certification.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a paramedic in an emergency medical services setting preferred.
