Key Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle, responding to emergency calls and assisting citizens.
- Enforce vehicle parking and operating laws, issue citations for violations, and provide explanations.
- Protect the lives and property of all citizens, respond to emergency calls, administer first aid, and provide assistance to stranded motorists.
- Search for and investigate wanted and missing persons, stolen property, and suspected illegal activity.
- Search for and apprehend offenders, escort suspects and prisoners, and testify in court.
- Investigate crime scenes and accidents, administer breathalyzer tests, and preserve evidence.
- Direct traffic, assist pedestrians, and escort funerals and parades.
- Promote crime prevention through public awareness efforts and solicit cooperation from citizens.
- Review and investigate public establishments for compliance with laws and regulations.
- Prepare daily and periodic reports, maintain logs, and complete forms.
- Attend training sessions and seminars, and assist with the training of new officers.
- Must be a citizen of the United States and be at least 19 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Florida State Law Enforcement Certification.
- Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
