The Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens at the hospital and at outpatient draw sites, while providing administrative support to technical staff and exhibiting service excellence standards of behavior at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood and other specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Provide administrative support to technical staff, including registering patients and specimens for lab testing and entering laboratory information system data.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of laboratory specimens.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to laboratory safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and hospital employees to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 1 month of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with phlebotomy training course preferred.
- 6 months of specifically related patient care/services experience preferred.
- General knowledge in the areas of medical information and laboratory safety.
- Ability to effectively communicate patient information to physicians, office staff, and hospital employees.
- Ability to act as a clinical laboratory information resource to all customer groups.
- Ability to accurately transcribe and verbalize patient data.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of basic computer skills.
The pay range for this position is $16.12 - $23.93 per hour, with competitive differential rates for evenings, nights, and weekends.
