About the Role

Dewberry's Lakeland office is seeking a seasoned Project Director to lead our MEPS Infrastructure teams in designing electrical, mechanical, and structural systems for water/wastewater projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project teams, interfacing with clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical, mechanical, and structural design teams on water/wastewater infrastructure projects for public utility and private clients.
  • Oversee project planning, design, and construction phases, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, technicians, inspectors, and permitting specialists.
  • Collaborate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan, and assign personnel.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to project teams and clients.
  • Prepare design proposals, support project pursuits, and engage in client management and business development activities.
  • Employ earned value and quality management principles to prepare and monitor project work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Contribute to the growth of MEPS Infrastructure through attending conferences, supporting articles in professional publications, and participating in State and/or National professional associations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive design and project management experience, with a minimum of 4+ years in the water/wastewater market.
  • Accomplished Professional Engineer (in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, or ability to obtain them through reciprocity within 90 days of start date).
  • Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.
  • Experience interfacing with clients.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-organized, with a good understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process control systems, and general knowledge of applicable codes, national standards, water/wastewater equipment, and plant operation.
