We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Associate to join our team at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. As a Radiology Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Radiology department, providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nursing and technical staff in screening and preparing patients for exams
- Perform patient registration duties, including registering and scheduling patients for exams, obtaining insurance and demographic data, and verifying benefit levels with third-party payors
- Coordinate patient information management, including pre-registration, insurance verification, appointment confirmation, and demographic and referring physician information
- Assist with PACS/RIS and patient information management coordination to ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity
- Interact with technologists and radiology nursing staff to ensure completion of all appropriate paperwork and assist with entry of diagnosis coding and other information related to diagnostic procedures
- Interact with customers and stakeholders to provide and distribute exam results in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain patient charts and films as appropriate and assist with data collection activities required by administration and other outside agencies
- High school diploma or equivalent, with on-the-job training or related previous experience to acquire skills in screening and preparing patients for exams
- Graduation from a school of practical nursing or certified Nurse Assistant Program or a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Six to twelve months of related computer/information management experience required
- Knowledge of infection control, aseptic techniques, and universal precautions
- BCLS certification highly desirable
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology highly desirable
