Pediatric Radiologic Technologist Part Time Days

At DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our young patients. Our team of dedicated professionals is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in a part-time capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify or update medical history and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives and follow-up.
- Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per script.
- Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols and communicate data to radiologist.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.
- Provide physician-prescribed post care instructions to patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice.
Requirements:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
- Strong analytical and clinical skills necessary to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing requested radiographs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal effectively with patients and hospital personnel.
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment.
