Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Independence Village of Ankeny. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the culinary and dining department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in hiring, coaching, and performance management of culinary staff
  • Directly supervise and train culinary personnel to ensure exceptional food quality and presentation
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement menu planning, food ordering, and inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Prepare and cook meals to order, and maintain a high level of resident satisfaction through plate presentation and taste
  • Support the mission, values, and vision of Independence Village Management, and promote a positive and inclusive work environment
Requirements
  • Fine dining experience required, with a strong background in culinary operations and management
  • Working towards Sous Chef Certification or comparable work experience
  • Proven leadership abilities, strong organization, and time management skills
