The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing custodial operations, ensuring that all cleaning services align with the standards set forth by the leadership team. This role involves supervising custodial personnel and ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the organization's buildings and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the thorough cleaning and maintenance of assigned facilities, including adjacent grounds and pathways (tasks may include mopping, washing, dusting, polishing, and moving furniture using various cleaning agents and equipment).
• Cultivates a skilled workforce by recruiting qualified candidates, providing comprehensive training, monitoring staff performance, conducting evaluations, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Manages custodial staff by assisting with training and performance assessments, making hiring and termination recommendations, creating work schedules, and ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained.
• Ensures custodial teams are equipped with the necessary tools and supplies to perform their duties effectively, coordinating with leadership on procurement and contracted services. Responsible for inventory management and supply replenishment.
• Assists with the cleaning, repair, relocation, and rearrangement of furniture across various locations.
• Oversees snow removal operations in public areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, and entrances.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in custodial services is preferred.
- Proficient understanding of custodial practices and the ability to instruct others on the use of cleaning equipment and products.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Experience working with at-risk youth or in a non-profit environment is advantageous.
- Varicella vaccination or proof of immunity is required.
- MMR vaccination or proof of immunity to all three diseases is necessary.
- Tdap vaccination is required.
- Annual influenza vaccination is mandatory during flu season.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Capability to engage with a diverse population, economically and culturally.
- Essential skills include strong organizational and communication abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Compensation
$25 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
