POSITION SUMMARY:
This role oversees the mechanical, control, and animation maintenance operations within the designated area. The supervisor plays a crucial role in routine, capital, and expense budgeting, establishing the direction and priorities for all maintenance activities. This position leads and manages technical personnel, focusing on continuous improvement, professional development, and administrative tasks within the area of responsibility. The supervisor is responsible for preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs all ride maintenance with active participation, ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems are maintained in optimal condition.
- Addresses attraction interruptions promptly and works to resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborates regularly with Operations teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Acts as the area owner, reporting issues and managing downtime activities.
- Oversees the planning and scheduling of maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective measures, as well as parts procurement.
- Evaluates operational performance of attractions and prioritizes maintenance tasks accordingly.
- Supervises and facilitates training and development for all direct reports.
- Implements development plans regularly and as needed.
- Manages schedules and personnel records for direct reports.
- Ensures safety compliance within the assigned area.
- Adheres to all Universal Orlando policies and procedures.
- Prioritizes safety in all operations.
- Supports daily operational throughput requirements.
- Implements a preventative and predictive maintenance strategy to minimize downtime.
- Keeps detailed records of completed maintenance tasks.
- Coordinates maintenance efforts with operational needs, collaborating with all relevant departments to ensure superior customer service.
- Ensures compliance with ASTM F-24 guidelines and original manufacturer specifications.
- Focuses on fiscal responsibility, managing budget expenditures effectively.
- Assists in developing mitigation strategies for budget overruns.
- Contributes to the formulation and management of routine budgets, encompassing all necessary expenses to meet objectives.
- Monitors overtime usage, ensuring it is utilized only when absolutely necessary.
- Participates in the development of capital and expense plans as required.
- Engages in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to established policies, procedures, and team member involvement activities.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
This position manages all maintenance functions for rides, shows, and guest interactive areas within the specified area. Responsible for routine, expense, and capital budgets for the area, and supervises all hourly staff.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Technical school education is preferred.
- Associate's degree (AA) in General Education or Technology is advantageous.
- 5-7 years of technical and trade experience is essential.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience is required;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NAARSO level 1 certification is required within one year of hire.
