Maintaining a High Level of Cleanliness and Order

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Worker at Old Dominion University. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness and order in the university center by performing a variety of cleaning tasks and meeting room set-ups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in the university center, including classrooms, meeting rooms, and common areas.
  • Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Set up meeting rooms and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Strive to achieve perfection in supporting student activities and programs, meetings, and special events.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all facilities maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and order.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
