Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director Opportunity
Creighton University School of Medicine - Phoenix is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director.
The Program Director will be responsible for administering and maintaining an environment conducive to educating fellows in ACGME core competency areas, overseeing the quality of didactic and clinical education, and developing and reviewing program curricula.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gastroenterology, with a minimum of three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency or gastroenterology fellowship.
The Program Director will also be responsible for monitoring fellow supervision at all participating sites, preparing and submitting annual program updates, and ensuring compliance with sponsoring institution and participating site policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain an environment conducive to educating fellows in ACGME core competency areas.
- Oversee the quality of didactic and clinical education.
- Develop and review program curricula.
- Monitor fellow supervision at all participating sites.
- Prepare and submit annual program updates.
- Ensure compliance with sponsoring institution and participating site policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree and current certification in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
- Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment.
- Specialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency or gastroenterology fellowship.
- Ongoing clinical activity and ongoing academic achievements in gastroenterology.
- Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals and Valleywise Health Medical Center.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
