Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Director

Creighton University School of Medicine - Phoenix is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and maintaining an environment conducive to educating fellows in the ACGME core competency areas.
The Program Director will oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education, develop and review program curricula, and monitor fellow supervision at all participating sites. They will also prepare and submit all information required by ACGME, including annual program updates, and ensure compliance with sponsoring institution and participating site policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular disease, with at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency or cardiovascular disease fellowship. They will also have ongoing clinical activity and academic achievements in cardiovascular disease, including publications, educational programs, or research.
The Program Director will be responsible for leading and participating in key areas of the program, including fellow recruitment, Program Evaluation Committee, and Clinical Competency Committee. They will also develop opportunities for bidirectional communication with fellows and faculty, and work with fellows, faculty, and clinical site partners to create systems that maximize fellow learning while minimizing disruption of clinical workflow.
The successful candidate will be provided with protected, non-clinical time dedicated to administration of the program, and will be expected to provide each fellow with a documented semiannual evaluation of performance with feedback. They will also develop processes for program faculty evaluation and continued participation of program faculty based on evaluation.
Minimum requirements include an MD or DO degree and current certification in Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, as well as current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment.
