Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team at APL Logistics Americas as a Warehouse Operations Specialist III. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional warehouse services, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of customer products and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading
    • Load picked orders or pull and load according to established policies and procedures, completing all necessary paperwork.
    • Unload, move, stack, and stage customer products and materials, both by hand and using forklift or other power equipment.
  • Pulling Orders
    • Accurately locate and load customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves according to established procedures and safety regulations.
    • Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials handled on a daily production sheet.
    • Complete specialized order processing for loading, including stenciling, slip-sheeting, shrink wrapping, labeling, and consolidating as required on the order.
  • Operating and Maintenance - Equipment and Grounds
    • Assign and verify trailers to the appropriate dock and/or yard location, ensuring all safety rules and company policies are followed.
    • Daily inspect and repair or make adjustments to tow-motor vehicles, following safety and maintenance instructions.
    • Prepare trailers prior to loading product by inspecting and cleaning as needed to ensure product preservation.
  • Reports
    • Complete activity and statistical reports as assigned by the supervisor.
    • Assist in physical inventories to ensure the facility and contents are secure.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Provide other services as directed by the supervisor and/or team leader, including sanitation requirements, assembling crates, and moving loose materials to containers.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Experience
    • Two (2) years of forklift/tow motor experience, including fork lift certification preferred.
  • Skills
    • Knowledge of inventory control and general warehouse procedures.
    • Light data entry skills required.
    • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents, and operate forklift, tow motor, motorized and non-motorized pallet jack, clamp, reach, and slip sheet.
  • Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • 1-2 years of warehouse or related work experience preferred.
    • RF experienced preferred.
