Job Title: Diver

Orion Group Holdings is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diver to join our team. As a Diver, you will be responsible for performing dive operations in a marine construction work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, perform, and complete dive operations in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, Diving Supervisor, Dive Tenders, and other Divers to ensure the success of dive operations.
  • Perform tasks topside and underwater as directed by the Diving Supervisor.
  • Ensure all diver-worn equipment is properly maintained and ready to use.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of all diving equipment.
  • Report any physical problems to the Diving Supervisor prior to and after any dive.
  • Follow all safe diving procedures in accordance with the Diving Manual, Company Policies and Procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in Company-sponsored training on Company Policies & Procedures, mandated regulatory guidelines, First Aid, and CPR to ensure safe and efficient diving operations.
  • Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives to improve existing Company programs and ensure compliance with State/Federal regulations.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of dive tending experience and successful completion of commercial dive training from a certified dive school.
  • Be at least 18 years of age and capable of passing a physical examination.
  • Be competent in the use and type of diving equipment, tools, and procedures at the depth and under the conditions in which work is to be performed.
  • Prior background working on marine-related construction projects is preferred.
  • Be a good verbal communicator and able to work effectively as a member of the project dive team.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
  • The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.
  • The incumbent must be able to identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of management, including corporate.
  • The individual must be able to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel.
