We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center. The successful candidate will provide mental health services to residents, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct on-site assessments and provide counseling services to residents on assigned caseloads.
- Enhance the emotional well-being of residents by identifying and treating mental health symptoms and responding to crisis situations.
- Collaborate with the Mental Health Manager and other social service agencies to ensure quality services for residents.
- Develop and implement Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) to promote safe family reunification, preparation for release, or transition to alternative living arrangements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from high school or GED.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in a social service field, such as social work, psychology, or sociology.
- Must successfully complete and pass the following clearances: Criminal History, Sex Offender Registration Database Check, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) central registry check, and a valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
- Pre-employment drug screen.
