Position Overview:

Schedule: To be determined by the supervisor.
Compensation: $48.36 per hour
ROLE SUMMARY
As a Mechanical Specialist, you will be integral in diagnosing, repairing, refurbishing, and servicing Caterpillar and other associated machinery, systems, and powertrain components within a workshop setting. Your duties will include identifying malfunctions, assessing the root causes of failures, and effectively communicating equipment conditions and recommendations to clients, colleagues, and management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Maintain positive client relationships and support corporate marketing goals.
- Repair, refurbish, and service machinery and components.
- Prepare detailed service reports.
- Plan and manage repair job costs.
- Ensure company equipment is well-maintained.
- Comply with safety regulations and company standards.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Maintain and manage personal tools.
- Provide on-the-job training to fellow technicians and assistants.
- Make recommendations for warranty services.
- Travel to remote sites as necessary.
- Promote and uphold corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, and management regarding equipment status and repair processes.
- Basic proficiency in computer and internet usage is required.
- Ability to operate and understand diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate well.
- Familiarity with CAT machinery components and systems.
- Meet company attendance standards and requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience.
- Completion of eTRAIN test evaluation.
- Proficiency in English is essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks.
- Lift and/or move items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Operate a forklift with appropriate certifications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work in diverse environmental conditions.
- Exposure to various weather elements.
- High noise levels in the workplace.
