About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Official to join our team at SAFEbuilt. As a key member of our community development team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and that their communities are safe and well-built.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with state and locally mandated code requirements, providing expert guidance and support to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to drive business growth and excellence.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that their needs are met.
  • Attend department and community meetings as required, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential projects, ensuring that all aspects meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide inspection support as needed, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards.
  • Supervise building department staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure team success.
Requirements
  • OH Building Official certification is required.
  • OH ESI certification is preferred.
  • OH Inspector certifications in multiple trades are preferred.
  • Inspection and plan review experience for commercial and residential structures is essential.
  • Client and team management experience in a building department setting is highly desirable.
