Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at FlexStaff. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the primary care physician.
    • Investigate and resolve customer issues and grievances in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Provide prescribed or emergency care to patients, including venipuncture, dressing changes, and straight catheterization.
    • Perform diagnostic tests and obtain laboratory specimens as authorized by the primary care physician.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Evaluate and promote a safe environment for patients and comply with national patient safety standards.
    • Complete all DTC logs as per regulations and document new medications administered at DTC in patient records.
  • Administration
    • Identify and partner with other departments to resolve complex customer service inquiries.
    • Track and manage stock medications and medical supplies at the DTC, ensuring proper inventory and expiration dates.
    • Assist with coordination and preparation of mail order prescriptions and complete prescription logs.
  • Standards and Qualifications
    • Perform job responsibilities per organization's policies and seek clarification when needed.
    • Assume responsibility for assignments given and be accountable for work performance.
    • Maintain proper documentation related to patient care and confidentiality of PHI.
    • Support staff, student, and volunteer orientation and ongoing in-service education as requested.
    Requirements
    • Current active and unrestricted license and registration in NYS as a Registered Nurse.
    • Minimum of one year general clinical experience in a certified home health agency, acute care, medical surgical, and/or critical care.
    • Customer service experience required.
    • Minimum of one year of experience working with a frail or elderly population or completion of training on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
    • Current certifications in phlebotomy/venipuncture, IV therapy, EKG interpretation, and Basic Life Support.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to sustain physical requirements essential to the job, including standing, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and walking.
    • Ability to travel and walk between sites/locations and work areas throughout the day.
