Job Overview

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. is a people-focused consulting firm offering diverse services including civil engineering, environmental consulting, and construction support.

Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year

Our Monroe, MI office has an opening for an experienced Bridge Engineer to work on projects within Michigan and potentially out of state.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand bridge design, inspection, and retaining wall design principles.
  • Develop and complete structural engineering tasks in accordance with MDOT standards.
  • Prepare bridge layouts, material quantity calculations, and construction specifications.
  • Review drawings from drafters and designers for quality and deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other engineering staff.
  • Manage projects, including coordination with clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in Bridge Engineering.
  • P.E. license required.
  • Experience with MDOT and/or LAP.
  • AASHTO Bridge Design expertise.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and OpenRoads.
  • AASHTOWare, Merlin Dash, and MathCAD knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
