Lead Embedded Systems Engineer

As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of embedded systems within a dynamic and innovative environment. Your expertise will be vital in the design, construction, and testing of embedded firmware/software tailored for wireless electronic products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and document microprocessor-based firmware for wireless electronic products, guiding projects from concept through to production.
- Create embedded firmware and software using popular development environments such as IAR Systems, AVR Studio, Eclipse, and MPLab IDE.
- Draft software design requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and documentation for various platforms.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to specify components that optimize firmware design.
- Work alongside hardware teams to design PC-based software for production, manufacturing, and product validation testing.
- Conduct system functional tests and troubleshoot products and equipment as necessary.
- Provide ongoing technical support to manufacturing and ensure timely communication of project estimates.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals who possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, developing, and testing firmware and hardware for embedded systems.
- Proficiency in generating firmware for 8-bit and 32-bit microprocessor systems, including experience with peripheral devices.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and wireless networks.
- Experience with version control systems and documentation tools like Git, GitHub, and Doxygen.
- Knowledge of PC-based software for electronic product control, including VB, Visual Studio .NET, C#, and LabView.
- Experience with Yocto Linux and real-time operating systems (RTOS) for embedded applications.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes and network analyzers.
- Direct design experience with RF wireless communication technologies is a plus.
- Experience with FPGA firmware development is also desirable.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience is required.
