SUMMARY

The Equipment Maintenance Lead will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of machinery, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring minimal production interruptions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and analytical abilities to troubleshoot industrial control systems effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure minimal downtime of production equipment.

• Lead and perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on various industrial machinery, including CNC machines, thermoforming machines, and air compressors.

• Conduct repairs and maintenance on electrical controls and hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and mechanical systems.

• Act as the technical authority, guiding routine maintenance and technical tasks.

• Maintain accurate equipment records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

• Establish and manage spare parts inventory, including ordering and stocking necessary components.

• Ensure the integrity of equipment manuals and documentation.

• Promote safe work practices and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures.

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Develop strategies to improve processes, procedures, and systems for enhanced efficiency and reliability.

• Oversee maintenance and repairs of facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

• Manage hazardous waste storage, conduct inspections, and maintain accurate records.

• Obtain service quotes and supervise contractors during onsite work.

• Oversee projects, ensuring contractor safety, performance, and adherence to timelines.

• Serve as the primary contact for various facility services and compliance matters.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position involves supervising a team or individual contributors to ensure effective performance and job satisfaction while supporting their career development.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training preferred.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.

• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within equipment maintenance.

• 4+ years of experience in facilities maintenance is desirable.

• Supervisory and project management experience is advantageous.

• Journeyman-level certifications in electrical, HVAC, machining, or tool and die making are preferred.

• Consideration will be given to candidates with relevant apprenticeships or educational backgrounds.

• Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean methodologies is beneficial.

CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid driver's license.

• Relevant certifications in electrical, HVAC, machining, or tool and die making.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Conversational proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

SKILLS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

• Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP, is preferred.

• Extensive understanding of electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

• Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial manufacturing equipment.

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.

• Experience in inventory management and organization.

• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

• Competency in mechanical disassembly, repair, and reassembly.

• Ability to identify and replace worn components to prevent future equipment failures.

• Proficient in facilities maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
