Gen Re is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Technical Accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling complex life and health reinsurance transactions and ensuring compliance with reinsurance agreements.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of life insurance clients, ensuring timely and accurate premium payments and record-keeping.
- Perform premium validations, analyze premium fluctuations, and prepare accruals.
- Review aged receivables, ensure treaty compliance, and maintain relationships with client contacts.
- Resolve complex issues both internally and externally, and assist the claims team with premium-related questions.
- Conduct periodic client audits, both remotely and onsite, and contribute to the enhancement of internal process documentation and process improvement.
- Support the financial close process, including opening and closing financial periods, reporting, and retro calculations.
- 5-10 years of experience in life and/or health reinsurance technical accounting, with expertise in both assumed and ceded business.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, documentation, process improvement, and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Prior experience with financial close processes or willingness to learn, as well as experience working with IT resources to resolve system issues.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including vlookups, pivot tables, and formula building, with experience using PowerBI a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to exercise professional judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent team player with the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients and internal colleagues.
$78,000 - $130,000 per year
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries and is subject to many factors, including but not limited to, credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills, and/or training.
