Job Overview

Position Summary

The Public Area Attendant is essential in ensuring that all communal spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, in accordance with the policies and procedures established by Biltmore Hotel Limited.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute cleaning tasks in various public areas including the lobby, common areas, restrooms, meeting spaces, and staff zones, adhering to the established cleaning protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adequate supply levels in public and staff restrooms.
  • Perform sweeping and mopping of floors in public spaces.
  • Manage waste disposal by collecting and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Ensure cleanliness of public telephones.
  • Dust and polish furnishings in public areas and the lobby.
  • Oversee the upkeep of back-of-house areas.
  • Report maintenance issues, missing items, or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisory staff.
  • Safeguard any lost items by turning them in to the designated security personnel.
  • Respond to specific requests from guests or management as needed.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas.
  • Assist in deep cleaning initiatives and special projects as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Qualifications

  • Education: A High School Diploma is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of cleaning experience in a hospitality setting is preferred.

  • Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Able to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Capable of providing clear communication and directions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and accurately.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending and twisting.
  • Effective communication with colleagues and guests through verbal and visual means.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, primarily indoors.
