Psychiatric Technician: Part Time, 1st Shift

This position is part of a tight-knit team at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, where we believe in the healing power of expertise and compassion. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing physical and emotional care to individuals with mental illness and/or developmental delays.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure a Safe and Secure Environment: Provide a safe and secure environment for individuals served and staff in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborate in Program Development: Collaborate in day-to-day planning and development of individualized programming and implementation of programs.
- Assist with Personal Care: Assist individuals with personal care, including bathing, shaving, washing hands, styling hair, using the bathroom, dressing, etc.
- Participate in Safety Management: Actively participate in safety management, crisis intervention, and prevention, including monitoring, assessment, de-escalation, implementation of restrictive measures, and emergency psychiatric and medical care.
- Document Progress: Document all progress notes, medication administration, and any other relevant information, reporting any immediate concerns according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Monitor and Report Risks: Monitor for and report to designated staff any potential risks to individuals' safety that could lead to an adverse outcome.
- Support Recovery-Focused Environment: Support and promote a recovery-focused environment and person-centered approach within the program.
- Education/Experience: Completion of a minimum of six months post-high school education in behavioral sciences or equivalent is preferred. CNA certification or one to two years of college education is preferred.
- Work Schedule: This position is onsite and may require both weekend and holiday hours.
