PeaceHealth is in search of a Housekeeping Services Associate for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable position. The compensation range for this role is $26.28. The starting salary is influenced by various factors, including education, training, work experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement. There may be multiple openings for this role.

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Services Associate is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in designated areas, including rooms, floors, fixtures, and furnishings, adhering to established policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include performing various housekeeping tasks such as restocking supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure cleanliness and disinfection of assigned areas in accordance with departmental protocols. This may involve dusting, mopping, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpets, washing walls, ceilings, furniture, and fixtures, emptying trash, restocking supplies, and making beds.
  • May assist in setting up furniture in meeting spaces.
  • Maintain the housekeeping cart, restock paper receptacles, replace sharps containers, and order necessary supplies. Properly clean and store equipment.
  • Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests or housekeeping needs.
  • In clinical settings, collaborate with clinical staff to prioritize cleaning tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education
  • High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
Experience
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of formal housekeeping experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
Credentials
  • May require: Driver's License.
Skills
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (Required).
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision (Required).
  • Strong customer service skills (Required).
  • Basic computer skills (Required).

Lifting
  • Continuous movement within the area.
  • Frequent simple grasping.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling: 36 lbs. initial force, 26 lbs. sustained force.

  • Frequent lifting of 10 lbs.-25 lbs.; seldom 26 lbs.-50 lbs.
  • Occasional carrying of up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional squatting or kneeling.
Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to perform tasks in a noisy environment.
  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Mental/Visual
  • Vision and hearing within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
