Project Accountant

Bessolo Design Group, a leading architectural, engineering, and interior design firm, is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team. As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project accounting, including monthly project invoices, subconsultant management, and project cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review project status, invoicing, profitability, earnings, and costs.
  • Prepare and present project budgets, profitability reports, WIP, and backlog.
  • Calculate multipliers and annual billing rates.
  • Ensure contract compliance, including contract creation and management, project setup, and project maintenance.
  • Manage payroll, including full-cycle payroll processing, reporting, and payment of state and federal payroll taxes and 401(k).
  • Manage accounts receivable, including client payments, collections, and lien preparation.
  • Manage accounts payable, including daily A/P entry, vendor setup, payments, W9's, 1099's, and consultant COI's.
  • Process employee expense reports and reconcile monthly company credit card charges.
  • Work with designers to enter and order furnishings using Fohlio software.
  • Process POs, file monthly sales tax with various states, and maintain resale certificates.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the A/E/C or Interior Design field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5-10 years' experience as Project/Sr Accountant/Full-charge Bookkeeper).
  • Strong experience in financial statement, cost, revenue, and project performance analysis and general analytics.
  • Proficiency in Deltek Ajera (Vision, VantagePoint) or other large ERP platforms (SAP, NetSuite, etc.) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • AIA Contract Software and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changing priorities.
  • Team Player - willingness to assist with any department functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organization skills.
  • Willingness to work extra hours when the workload requires it.
  • Be a fast learner and have superior multi-tasking skills.
  • Superior intuitive ability.
  • Multi-state corporate and professional license management a plus.
