Position Overview

LOCATION: Central California Coast

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is a well-established healthcare provider, dedicated to serving the community since 1959. Our facility features 162 beds, including a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a designated trauma center, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Department Manager and Director to oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of nursing services to patients within designated units and shifts. This role includes supervising and delegating care responsibilities to nursing and support staff, ensuring compliance with their professional scope of practice. The supervisor will provide clinical expertise across all patient care areas and advocate for the implementation of best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the recruitment, performance assessment, and professional development of nursing staff.
  • Facilitating the onboarding and training of new personnel on policies and procedures to ensure compliance with departmental standards.
  • Assisting in the achievement of financial objectives while maintaining adequate staffing levels, equipment, and supplies.
  • Managing specific projects and initiatives as assigned by the Department Manager or Director.
  • Engaging in Lean Daily Management activities to enhance operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and either a master's degree in a related field or a certificate in nursing or healthcare administration from an accredited institution: Required
  • A minimum of three years of full-time clinical nursing experience, including at least one year in a Level III/IV NICU: Required
  • Prior experience in a clinical supervisory role within an acute care environment: Preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written: Preferred
  • Effective organizational and multitasking abilities: Preferred
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English: Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required
  • Registered Nurse Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care (RNC-NIC) within six months of hire or transfer: Required
  • Current California RN license: Required

ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT:

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, totaling 72 hours per pay period.
