Medical Support Specialist

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality plasma collection process. Your expertise will be instrumental in determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results.
You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to provide operational guidance and medical support. Your knowledge of regulations in the plasma collection industry will be essential in maintaining compliance and ensuring the safety of our donors.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination
- Manage donor adverse events and provide guidance on medical or technical issues
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance as needed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
- Current licensure or certification as an EMT-Paramedic in the state where responsibilities will be assigned
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
