Veterinary Kennel Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our team at Community Veterinary Partners. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and exercise of all boarding and hospitalized pets. Your attention to detail and ability to recognize signs of stress or changes in eating or elimination habits will be crucial in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide compassionate care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients
- Walk through kennel areas regularly, checking each pet for abnormal activity
- Recognize emergency situations and enlist the aid of doctors and technicians
- Mark records correctly for abnormal eating/weight/elimination habits
- Feed and water animals according to schedules and special instructions
- Clean and disinfect cages, runs, and yards as needed
- Assist with animal restraint, surgery, and treatments
- Interact with clients in person and by phone
- Perform administrative tasks, such as record documentation and boarding paperwork
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Endure standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods
- Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment
