Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Monroe Hospital. As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including waived, moderate, and highly complex tests.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including waived, moderate, and highly complex tests.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, including blood and urine samples.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Record and report test results, including quality control and proficiency testing.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • ASCP certification or equivalent required within 1 year of employment.
  • One year of hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid state license if required.
