Daily Responsibilities:
We are excited to announce an opening for a Patient Admin Specialist III at Insight Global.

The main duty of the Patient Administrative Specialist is to manage new patient onboarding, surgical scheduling, and various front office tasks within the outpatient clinical environment.

A Patient Administrative Specialist is responsible for supporting all administrative functions related to the clinic's daily operations.

  • Master Scheduling,
  • New Patient Coordination,
  • Authorization Management,
  • Surgery/Procedure Scheduling,
  • Specialized data collection and coordination,
  • Collaborating with care teams, patients, and external facilities to gather essential information, diagnostic imaging, pathology, and other critical data necessary for patient care.
  • Ensures that all verifications and authorizations are completed prior to patient appointments.

In addition, the role involves preparing patient medical records for clinic visits.

  • Assists patients and healthcare providers in scheduling ancillary tests before and after clinic appointments.
  • Aids patients and physicians in arranging treatment appointments, including surgeries, imaging, and other necessary procedures.
  • Verifies that all scheduled patients meet eligibility criteria for requested services.
  • Informs patients about authorization processes and collects payments for both new and returning patients using the scheduling system. Coordinates care by managing, editing, and maintaining routine patient appointments.
  • Plus, expertise in one or more additional specialized functions (performed 30% or more of the time):
  • Schedules complex appointments and surgeries requiring a strong understanding of procedures, departmental protocols, and timing. Functions independently to complete activities related to the registration process. Responsible for the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data.
  • Documents patient financial responsibilities and communicates this information to the patient and relevant staff.
  • Serves as a resource for other staff regarding registration, benefits, and authorization processes.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential Qualifications:
-1 year of directly related work experience

  • Entry Level (externs, new graduates)
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with Epic software
  • Experience in insurance verification
  • Experience in Prior Authorization processes
Preferred Skills & Experience
-2+ years of experience in surgical scheduling

Benefit packages for this role will commence on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and access to a 401k retirement plan with employer matching.
