Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dental Assistant II to join our team. As a Dental Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing dental treatment, preparing treatment plans, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist in providing dental treatment and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare and present treatment plans to patients, explaining procedures and costs in a clear and concise manner.
  • Schedule patient appointments, taking into account potential obstacles and ensuring efficient use of time.
  • Maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, adhering to strict hygiene and sterilization protocols.
  • Collect and record patient health histories, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assist with patient management during dental procedures, providing emotional support and reassurance as needed.
  • Complete instrument cleaning and sterilization, as well as post-op sanitization of treatment rooms.
  • Prepare dental materials and equipment as needed for scheduled treatments.
  • Complete dental charting, accurately recording patient information and treatment details.
  • Assist with inventory management and other ancillary duties as required.
Requirements
  • Dental Assistant II Essential Requirements:
  • DAII Training or equivalent.
  • Preferred 2-5 years of Dental Assistant experience.
  • Achieved CDA certification, or completed radiological equivalency exam through NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed CODA-accredited dental assisting program.
  • CPR certified, or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to professionally present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance information to patients.
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software a plus.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and exercise good judgment, ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and/or implement operating practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate a teamwork approach to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, dependability, and promptness.
  • Must perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible and accept different work assignments within the practice, including traveling to other locations, with a positive approach.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility for own actions.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality with patients and patient care.
  • Must listen attentively for clarification to ensure necessary outcomes.
