Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role focuses on facilitating tailored design initiatives throughout the order lifecycle for air-moving machinery employed in industrial settings.

The Engineering Project Coordinator will ensure the precision of order documentation, material lists, and schematics related to bespoke products. The candidate must possess the ability to interpret and implement various client specifications, design documents, equipment schedules, and application standards to the designs and selections of fans and blowers. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for providing accurate and prompt responses to order inquiries. The role demands an individual who can manage multiple tasks, is highly organized, and can operate independently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial. A solid understanding of applying theoretical analysis to practical principles related to research and development is necessary. The Engineering Project Coordinator will lead a cross-functional team during the design and production phases of custom fans, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate order processing by evaluating specifications, customer drawings, data, design documents, equipment schedules, and application criteria, assisting in selecting the most suitable fan for the application based on a comprehensive understanding of Hartzell Air Movement products.
  2. Collaborate with sales representatives and clients to clearly articulate any unique product requirements.
  3. Work closely with other engineering disciplines to assess the feasibility of designing specialized equipment or modifying existing products.
  4. Exhibit excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
  5. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change.
  6. Review designs utilizing SolidWorks.
  7. Ensure technical accuracy of order documentation, material lists, and schematics.
  8. Oversee projects with cross-functional teams from the order stage to final delivery.
  9. Guarantee orders are fulfilled on schedule, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.
  10. Manage multiple projects concurrently and forecast potential risks.
  11. Define special purchased components and address vendor and procurement inquiries from the quoting stage through manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.
  12. Assist with operational questions regarding the proper assembly of products.
  13. Knowledge of drive selection, couplings, vibration isolator selection, and various seal applications, along with electrical components in makeup air units, is advantageous.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 - 5 years of industrial experience; or equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science with 3 – 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing projects.
  • Project Management Professional certification is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • The position requires an individual who can manage multiple tasks, is methodical, and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Goal-oriented, high-energy individual, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to take charge of projects and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Capability to influence others towards achieving objectives.
  • Organized to ensure timely project completion, understanding priorities, and following through in project management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experienced user of SolidWorks or equivalent software is desired.
  • Working knowledge of fluid dynamics and fan applications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with makeup air units and fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP) as they relate to fans and blowers is strongly desired.
  • Good understanding of fan applications, sound, and vibration.
