Position Overview:
The Surgical Trauma unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (7pm-7am). This unit features 29 beds and caters to a diverse patient demographic, including surgical, trauma, and various medical cases. Our surgical interventions primarily involve procedures from the neck to the abdomen, encompassing gastrointestinal surgeries such as colon and small bowel resections, cholecystectomies, and appendectomies. Additionally, we provide care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and maxillofacial operations. Patients may present with ostomies, nasogastric tubes, feeding tubes, and drains.
Trauma patients often arrive with multiple injuries and may require chest tubes, tracheostomies, and other drainage systems, yet they are stable enough for admission to a non-ICU/step-down medical-surgical floor. Our facility is recognized as a level 2 trauma center.

Key Responsibilities:
The staff nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients across their lifespan, employing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse operates within the organization's policies and procedures, demonstrating professional growth and accountability.
The nurse will:
1. Maintain high standards of nursing practice.
2. Coordinate patient care activities among all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing services.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Experience:
New graduates of nursing programs are encouraged to apply.
Licensure/Certification:
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or NLC/eNLC Multistate License is required.
BLS certification is mandatory.
Additional Qualifications:
For PRN positions, one year of nursing experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
A Bachelor's degree in nursing is advantageous.
Advanced certification in the specialty area may be required.
