Parks & Recreation Department

Part-Time Position, Saturdays, up to 10 hours per week

STARTING RATE: $21.50 / hour

POSITION RANGE: $21.50 – $22.50 / hour

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & OVERVIEW:

The Aquatics Program Director is responsible for the planning and execution of diverse aquatic initiatives, overseeing aquatic personnel, and possessing a comprehensive understanding of various aquatic programs.

Key competencies include the ability to engage with individuals of all ages while fulfilling responsibilities. A strong capability to uphold respect and discipline among participants, alongside fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues, parents, and others, is essential. Significant experience in managing group dynamics and exceptional customer service skills are necessary. The ability to critically assess programs and produce detailed, well-structured reports is required. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at organizing, implementing, and supervising a range of programs while managing facility operations.

Supervisory experience is mandatory. Lifeguard Certification and experience in swim instruction are highly preferred. Opportunities for further training may be available for candidates with a robust aquatics background. A valid motor vehicle license is also required.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Applications will be reviewed, with the most qualified candidates selected for an oral examination.
