About the Role

Mid-South Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and analyzing structures and foundations using advanced software tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Modeling and analysis of structures and foundations using RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, RISA Connection, and Hilti Profis
  • New construction and retrofit applications
  • Develop familiarity with IBC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, and ACI 318
  • Develop design drawings with the help of drafting/design staff in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
  • Focus on developing design and drafting/modeling software skills
  • Assist in preparing specifications for civil/structural trades for projects
  • Coordinate with owners and contractors through construction
  • Shop drawing review and approval
  • RFIs
  • Inspections and site visits
  • Design of equipment support structures for process equipment
  • Design of foundations for pre-engineered metal buildings, large equipment, radial cranes, and sub-steel structures
  • Design of masonry and light-framed construction office buildings and MCC rooms
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • NCEES Engineer Intern (E.I.) certificate
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, RISA, or similar structural design software
  • Ability to develop knowledge of processes and equipment
  • Acquainted with all conventional shallow and deep foundations
  • Familiarity with structural drawings and drawing practices
  • Ability to handle multiple complex concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer competency
  • Available for intermittent overnight travel
