Job Title: Receiving and Inventory Control Manager

Share Food Program is seeking a highly skilled Receiving and Inventory Control Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring product levels, maintaining and managing our inventory management system, and overseeing other program and operations staff in the use of the system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all processes and inbound operations, including receiving, inventory control, and required government contract documentation.
  • Assist in the oversight and execution of annual, cycle, and on-demand inventory audits to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
  • Develop and standardize processes to improve inventory accuracy and minimize inventory loss.
  • Establish inventory optimization techniques and implement processes for obsolete inventory.
  • Be the main point of contact for procurement-related issues on item disposition or PO discrepancies.
  • Attend and participate in all Inventory, Procurement, and Operational meetings.
  • Assist procurement in the creation, scheduling, and documentation of purchase orders.
  • Ensure adequate and safe storage in the warehouse to accommodate deliveries and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and policies.
  • Develop processes for forecasting future storage and transportation capacity.
  • Supervise inventory counts in the physical warehouse and reconciliation in the inventory system.
  • Keep programs and operations teams informed regarding inventory levels and concerns.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three years' experience overseeing warehouse inventory management system.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • At least 2 yrs. experience working with automated systems (RF technology, WMS).
  • At least 2 yrs. experience working in wholesale food distribution and receiving.
  • Analysis of inventory problems, collaboration with other departments, and problem resolutions.
Preferred Experience:
  • Understanding of distribution flow, good manufacturing practices, and warehousing.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to see the big picture and identify/forecast developing issues.
  • Continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including public presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
