Position Overview Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with overtime as required

Shift Details:
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive quality audits on the production floor.
  • Manage containment and sorting activities for any identified non-conforming products.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
  • Adhere to daily quality control priorities and responsibilities.

Essential Functions:
  • Basic understanding of blueprint interpretation is advantageous.
  • Organize and facilitate sorting operations.
  • Exhibit strong multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Utilize a variety of hand measurement tools.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PC-DMIS software is an asset.

Physical Demands:
  • Engage in bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
  • Respond to announcements via the public address system.
  • Maintain mobility through walking and standing.
  • Ability to lift items weighing twenty-five (25) pounds or more.

Work Environment Considerations:
  • Be aware of potential uneven surfaces due to equipment movement.
  • Work in a setting that may be dusty and noisy.
  • Experience drafts and temperature fluctuations due to open doors.
  • Be cautious of slippery floors during wet conditions or from machinery fluids.
  • Handle parts that may have sharp edges.
  • Be mindful of gas emissions from operating forklifts.
  • Interact with tools and materials that may contain hazardous substances.
  • Occasionally work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Safety glasses are required while on the production floor.
